Today was D’s first day of twos preschool. Of course I wanted to be able to document the big day for us. Since I have a love for chalkboards, I decided to make a small one for the picture. I can probably blame Pinterest for that one!
I have a few 8½” x 11” white picture frames on hand from my last trip to Ikea. These are inexpensive frames, $1.99 each, with a plastic cover instead of glass.
Then, I took black chalkboard contact paper that I had laying around. And covered the plastic cover with the contact paper.
I was surprised, the contact paper does not work as well with normal chalk as as it does with chalk pens. But, the chalk pens worked great. It also held up better when D was holding the sign. Since this was a frame, I was also able to stand it up next to him for some pictures.
